Minor fixes and improvements

More dependable profanity filtering across languages, applied to captions, translations, and the AI voice. Custom blocked words now work in every alphabet, including Cyrillic, Arabic, Chinese, and Korean. Plus small stability improvements under the hood.

NewAug 6

Low Latency Mode (Beta)

Turn on "Low latency subtitles" in the studio sidebar and captions reach the screen roughly twice as fast, in shorter phrases that break at natural pauses, for live events where every second on screen counts. The AI voice keeps its natural pacing, so captions and voice stay in step. Included on trial and Professional plans.

The Selah Translate iPhone app is on the App Store

Our native iPhone app for listeners is out of beta and free to download. Scan a QR code or enter a handle, pick a language, and follow along with live captions and the AI voice. Audio keeps playing with the screen locked, and the app reconnects on its own after a network dip.

July 2026

ImprovedJul 23

A steadier voice during music

During worship or other repeated audio, the translation voice no longer reads the same line again and again. It says it once and waits for something new, while captions continue as normal.

ImprovedJul 23

Smoother listening on iPhone

Fixed several iPhone-specific issues that could silence the voice after the first few lines, and the screen now stays awake while a live broadcast is open, so listening isn't cut short by auto-lock.

ImprovedJul 23

Listener audio that recovers on its own

If a listener's phone briefly loses its connection during a service, the spoken translation now reconnects by itself and picks up where it left off, in order, instead of going quiet until the page was refreshed. Captions and voice stay together.

NewJul 20

Idle session check

If a session keeps running with no speech for a full hour, the studio now asks whether you're still streaming, and gently stops the session if nobody answers. Forgot to hit stop after service? Your monthly minutes are protected.

Teams

Bring your whole team onto one account. Invite your volunteers and tech-booth operators, share one plan and one public broadcast link, and hand off cleanly between services, with no shared passwords and no separate subscriptions. Available on Professional and Enterprise.

ImprovedJun 24

Follow along with the spoken line

As the AI voice reads each translation, the matching caption now highlights in time with it, so listeners can see exactly where you are, even in a fast-moving service.

NewJun 23

Transparent display backgrounds

Caption displays can now be set to a transparent background, so you can drop them straight into VMix, OBS, or any video switcher as a clean overlay, no green-screen keying needed.

ImprovedJun 21

More listening languages at once

Expanded secondary-language translation so a single broadcast can reach more languages together, with extra headroom for larger congregations.

ImprovedJun 21

AI voice stays in sync

We reworked how translated audio is paced, so the AI voice keeps step with the speaker and the on-screen captions, plays at a natural pace instead of rushing to catch up, and no longer drifts further behind over a full-length service.

ImprovedJun 20

Sharper, faster captions

Upgraded live transcription to our latest speech model for more accurate captions with less delay.

NewJun 17

Selah Translate Mobile for iPhone (Beta)

A native iOS app for listeners. Scan a QR code or enter a handle, pick your language, and hear the live AI voice. Now rolling out in TestFlight.

FixedJun 16

Automatic reconnection

Live sessions now recover on their own through brief network drops, so a momentary Wi-Fi dip no longer cuts your translation short.

ImprovedJun 15

Keep listening with the screen off

Audio keeps playing when your phone locks, and resumes automatically after a call or other interruption.

NewJun 12

AI voice for every listener

Broadcasts now stream high-quality AI voice straight to listeners' devices, with nothing extra to set up.
