How do I add live captions to my OBS stream?

Go to the Captions page in Selah Studio, create a caption link with OBS selected as the integration, and copy the URL. In OBS, click + in the Sources panel, select Browser, name it "Captions", paste the URL, set the dimensions to 1920×1080, and click OK. Position the source in your scene and go live.

Can I use a transparent background for the captions?

Yes. Caption links support transparent backgrounds by default, allowing captions to overlay cleanly on your existing scene content without a background box.

What dimensions should I use for the Browser Source?

Set the Width and Height to match your OBS scene resolution — typically 1920×1080 for Full HD. You can then resize and reposition the source within your scene as needed.

How do I toggle captions on and off during a stream?

Click the eye icon next to the "Captions" Browser Source in the OBS Sources panel to show or hide captions at any time during your stream.

Captions aren't updating — what should I do?

Right-click the Browser Source in OBS and select "Refresh cache of current page". Make sure you have an active captioning session running in Selah Translate.

Can I show just the source language without translation?

Yes. When creating a caption link, enable only the "Source language" toggle. This displays captioning-only — the original spoken text without translation.
